Valsugana is a valley framed by the majesty of the plateaus and the wild Lagorai chain. It encloses a dream setting in which uncontaminated nature and stretches of water alternate with the profiles of local villages. Since 2019, the whole Valsugana valley, which also includes the city of Levico Terme, has been recognized as the first sustainable destination according to the criteria and standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The GSTC is an organization created to promote education, understanding and adoption of global practices for sustainable tourism compatible with the 17 Goals of the 2030 Agenda promoted by the United Nations.
The award recalls the importance of placing the community at the centre of every action aimed at the environmental, social and economic conservation of a territory: a fundamental resource for those who live here and a place to be preserved for future generations.
